Well since the weather today was pretty gross (snow & sleet in April is never fun) I decided to get this blog going. The main purpose of this blog is to showcase my coming adventures abroad, but I might also use it to document some adventures at home too, such as my summer job.
This summer I'm going to be teaching German at Concordia Language Villages, in Bemidji Minnesota (far north Minnesota), and it's sure to be an adventure! I'll be up there from July 11 until August 29 as a camp counselor and a high school credit teacher. It will be a great experience, as well as a good warmup to my job for the school year!
Next school year I'll be going to Austria to work part time as an English teaching assistant. I've been assigned to two schools, about 10 km (6.2 miles) apart, so guess who needs to buy a bike? This girl! The first school is in Berndorf, and the second is in Bad Vöslau, and as of yet I don't know which town I'm going to live in. I'm pretty happy with the placement, I'll only be an hour from Vienna, but the towns are both pretty small and surrounded by woods and hills. If only it were a bit closer to the Alps... but they're really not all that far away!
Anyway, back to playing with the settings here. Be sure to check out the weather, maps, and other things I've posted here!
